This super rare Fastback is a genuine K-Code High Performance 271 HP 289 V8, 4 speed manual car.
Not many of these Hi-Pro cars have survived, and fewer have survived in this condition. A genuine Poppy Red car with black interior trim, it also has the dealer installed "GT" option package, making it just that little more special. This car has disc brakes, GT wood rimmed steering wheel, fog lamps, styled steels, trumpet exhausts, GT side stripes, and centre console with Rally Pac.
The K-Code Mustangs were the base for Shelbys legendary GT350 Mustangs, and have several engine enhancements as standard equipment, the engine block itself is fitted with heavier main caps, the con rods are fitted with 3/8 rather than 5/16 bolts, a bigger harmonic balancer is fitted on the crankshaft, a stouter camshaft, better heads with screw in rocker studs, and better valve springs twin point distributor, heavy duty alternator, factory cast header style manifolds, open element air cleaner on the 4 barrel, the list goes on!
This stunning example of Mustang Legend was built on June 16 1965, in the San Jose plant, and has been in New Zealand for 16 years. It is a well respected car, and is well known.
