Rear Leaf Spring Numbers Decode

    Would someone indicate how to translate the numbers on the rear leaf? I have a 65K FB. Are the leafs different for the different models, plants, etc? Sorry, my leafs are not here with me right now. A couple of hypothetical examples would help greatly.

    Hi,The springs on a 65 fasback with hipo

    motor are marked C4ZA, 5556 S

    and like example 75 5E. Have also seen the E

    before the 5. The S above means they are for

    a FB hipo and the date code 75 means day 75,

    i.e. March 16 and 5 means 1965. Nobody is sure

    about the E but it could stand for the supplier

    Eaton but that's just a guess.

    Thanks for your reply! From what you have said, the date code of mfg is counted in calendar days (i.e.75 calendar days from Jan 1, 1965 to March 16, 1965), rather than production days (5-day work week).
