67 bumper guard question

    On 67 mustangs front and rear bumpers many mustangs had either chrome or painted bumper guards or no bumper guards at all. My questions are ......Were those bumper guards part of the GT package? How do you know if a particulair car came with those guards? Which ones were painted and which ones were chrome?

    I currently have a 67 F/B GTA, San Jose, Oct 66 build, with chrome front & painted rear bumper guards. I bought a non GT 67 F/B new, also a San Jose car but a very late 67 build (the '68's were already out), that had the same bumper guard set up. I still have the window sticker on the car and no where does it list the guards as an option. It would seem guards were standard equippage. By the way, the guards on both cars also included the narrow rubber bump strips.
