I PULLED A VYNL TOP OFF A 65 K I AM STARTING TO RESTORE MUCH TO MY SURPRISE THE CAR IS AN ORIGINAL VYNL I DID NOT KNOW ANY CAME WITH VYNL. ANY RESPONSE APPRECIATED. THANKS BURT

According to 'Mustang Does It' by Ray Miller, 4.9 percent of 1965 Mustangs came with a vinyl top, 11.5 pct in 66. It does add a touch of class to any car.

My brother has an original 65 A code GT with factory vinal top. It has always added a touch of class to his coupe.

The only problem with a vinyl top is that the factory didn't bother to paint the roof if it was going to be covered with vinyl. Many original cars suffered from serious rust issues hidden under the cover.
