STEERING BOX DATE CODES-DECODING

Hello fellow K nuts!I am wondering about the date codes used on tags such as the steering box.Would a tag of=5 L 18B be FEB 18 1965?i NEED A HCC AX box prior to @16 Jan 1965,but do you think I should settle for the closest I can come up with!?I am getting ready to do my front suspension and need a box,somebody has put an HCC AT box in it!?Thanks again,Randy

5L18B would be November 18, 1965, B shift(2nd).

If you have a Jan 16, '65 car, you'll most likely need something in the December '64 range.
