k code motor

    How much do you guys think a complete k code motor is worth? The engine is complete except for the carb and fan and excessories such as alternator. I am thinking about selling it this way instead of parting it out.

    There's no "NADA" Price Guide for K engines, but more details are required to get a good estimate for you. So many things will determine its true value. Here are just a few basic items, in no particular order, which will help determine a value:


    1. Casting number of block.


    2. Casting date of block.


    3. Condition of block: standard bore or ?


    4. Original assembly date of engine.


    5. Casting number of heads.


    6. Date codes on heads.


    7. FoMoCo distributor, or Autolite/Motorcraft replacement?


    8. Are the pistons, rods, and crankshaft original?


    9. Is the valvetrain original?

    Biggest one is if someone has the original car then it's worth the most to them.Really doesn't make it worth any more money but people thinks so and owner will too if he wants it all original.There are lots of parts and motors showing up as they made alot of Hipo stuff and they aren't worth what most think they are but the rule is "It's Worth What Someone Will Pay On Any Givin Day" and that's the truth!
