Date Code Question...

  • Quote from CharlesTurner

That would be too early. The date range you should target is 0-3 months prior to the scheduled build date.

CT.... Would that be 0-3 months prior to the assembly date of the engine or the build date of the car?

    Thanks,

    Gary

  • If possible the engine parts should be 2 weeks to 6 weeks between each other - and all parts up to 3 months before the car's build date.

FYI - only the TOP MCA show class (Throughbred) requires exact "correct" datecodes.

Unrestored class also... Everything has to be correct except for exhaust and shocks, which can be replaced.

CT... In Unrestored class would dealer installed options be correct like, say 3x2?

It would be more acceptable if you had dealer documentation to show when it was installed. Otherwise, you will have to accept more scrutiny from the judges.
