2007 Muscle Car Madness

  • Muscle Car weekend at Englishtown, NJ begins Saturday with the Stock Appearing Drags (http://www.stockappearingdrags.com) This is a all muscle car drag racing event featuring Factory Stock and Stock Appearing drag racing classes. Details at http://forums.factorystockmusclecars.com/groupee/eve


    There will be Muscle Car Enthusiast magazine on hand to cover the event and get some of your rides into their magazine. We will have our famous Trophy Girls on hand to pose with your cars, and we will be filming as usual for TV. If you have a Factory Stock Muscle Car or close to stock, this is a good event to find out what it can really do....no BS bench racing, get on the track and have some real fun. Heads-up muscle car racing...no brackets


    We have been invited to stay and race as well on Sunday, this will be bracket racing style, and you could also win a trophy here to as well.

    Car show on Sunday also and lots of vendors.

    You're right. The <i>angle</i> of the picture does create that impression...I took the fastback 3 out of 3 runs: once in the time trials, and then went 2 for 2 in a best of three elimination final. He red-lighted on the second run of the finals, so I really didn't have to push my car hard on the last run for the win.


    Both cars are 4 speeds with 3:50 open gears, and with stock engines, were a perfect match up. The fastback was running a set of fatter-sized 14" radials than I had, but he had more trouble hooking up. I was running right at 15 seconds, and probably with some slicks could have gone into the high 14's. I had to ease off the clutch at the start to get the car rolling, and then NAIL it, otherwise I would just spin the tire(s).
