'65-'66 "Cobra Kit"

  • I am understanding that the "Cobra Kit" was a dealer installed option/kit consisting of possibly cams, valve covers, carbs, ect and there was a unique emblem also attached to the car when the kit was installed by the dealer in the 60s....anyone have more info on this? I've seen several cars at shows with the emblem but never really understood what the mechanical part was all about...

  • The medallion that you are referring to is a round Cobra emblem that is a subkit number C3RA 19D531 A consisting of two of the emblems. They definitely came with camshaft kits and multiple carburetion kits such as tripower, dual quads and the 4-2V kit(Webers). They did not come with single carburetor, engine dress up or oil pan kits.
