help needed on my K code value

  • Guys I know this is a loaded question but I'm trying to decide whether to sell my 66 K code fastback.Price will determine my decision , so I'm looking for honest feedback. I need to make some room in my garage and it's always hard to decide to sell something especially if it's a nice original car that needs nothing.

I have a 2nd owner always garaged ,Spring time yellow ,4 speed non-GT fastback. This car has an original 53 K miles ,repainted in 1990 but in very nice condition.Nice original interior, underside not detailed but nice never rusty chassis. Wrong short block but heads, intake, manifolds, dist all original matching.Wrong carb.Correct trans with original clutch, original 9' rear (changed from 389 to 350 posi).I'm running 65 or early 66 chrome factory wheels on it but I have a correct extra set of trim ringed 66 wheels and redline tires. This car runs and drives like a new Mustang. What should a car like this bring? Thanks Olaf

  • Charles hit the number on the head. 25-30K tops

The market is NOT strong right now. Excellent cars will always bring good money. Cars that have issues...will linger. A car without it's proper short block will linger.

I love the color, it is my favorite BUT...the market does not like Springtime Yellow. It will bring 15% less than red, black or blue.

  • yup , original non-molested cars do bring more $$$. I m not going to justify my price but cars this nice and original are harder to find. If the market is soft then it's a good excuse for me to drive and keep the car. Fortunatly they dont seem to be going down in price. Thanks for the feedback.Olaf

  • BTW, Olaf is the owner of the shop doing my car. I have seen this fastback in person. He even offered me a chance to drive it, but I said no. I don't like being responsible for another man's toy, especially with such low mileage. I just enjoyed looking the car over and listening to the motor. It really is a beautiful Kar with original interior. Thanks again Olaf for the opportunity to drive it, Hopefully, I'll be able to drive my own soon.. Kevin
