What would be the best bet for an oil pump for a stock rebuilt 289HP, I heard years ago that they could benefit from a high volume pump???
Oil Pump for 289HP??

Higher volume pumps often mean higher pressure pumps. The higher pressure could put a strain on the front freeze plugs. A well assembled engine will maintain 55-60 psi at the main bearings with a stock oil pump. Ford thought that was good, even for the HiPo.

Thats what I was thinking as well, Bob, and BTW YOUR BOOK IS ABSOLUTELY GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!

I prefer the melling M68a pump for the Hipo. It is std volume, but has slightly increased pressure over the std M68 pump.
