Many years ago I bought a NOS 65/66 (C5ZZ-6506010-A)
glove box insert from a Mustang parts
shop here in Texas and today I was
replacing the repo I have had in my Shelby
since 1992. To my big surprise the quality
of the NOS part was extremely poor. The
staple that holds the left side in an
45 degree angle was put in the wrong place
which means that the insert wouldn't fit at all.
I had to remove the staple, bend the insert in
the correct place, make a new hole for the left
lower screw and move the wrongly placed plate
nut to fit the new hole.
The repo made by Pro Products Inc. was in fact much better
in quality than the NOS.
Finally, the NOS is in the car but I learned a lesson again.
Always check and double check everything. Maybe the part in the original Ford box had been replaced but I don't think so as
the box looked unopened.
