66 289/C4 block plate color

    Would like to know correct finish/color on 1966 C4 289 engine block plate. This is the plate that goes between the bellhousing and engine block and is not the small inspection plate. Plate I have is natural finish and has engine blue paint where the plate is visible beneath the oil pan. Is this what I need to duplicate or is this the result of a past rebuild and the entire thing should be natural?

    The plate was in place when the motor was painted. Therefore, it will have paint showing in areas close to the motor. The area where the starter attaches usually was not heavily covered in paint, to ensure a good ground to the block.
