Friendly FYI... the date stamp on an early starter would have been an ink stamp. So long as you get the correct housing, you can put whatever date you want on it (assuming you have the correct stamp.)

Are there any pictures out there of what the date stamp looked like for an early starter? Anyone?

C4ZF is a typical marking as early as August of '64.
There would never be a stamping with a trailing 'Z' as this would indicate a service replacement part and not an assembly line part.
