Trying to find my old '65 HiPo Fastback...

  • I owned this car in Connecticut in the mid-late 70's and would love to find it. The car was originally Ivy Green I believe, but was painted red when I had it. It had a standard tan/beige interior, 4spd with a Rally Pack, and from what I can gather off my old records, the vin was 5F09K306431. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

    -Greg

  • The car has not been discussed here before from an Archive search of the VIN and the VIN is not listed in the registry.

Have you tired the CT DMV? They can search and see if the VIN is registered - if you are lucky it is still on the road there or they might be able to tell you when last it was registered and to whom - but as far as I know that is about as far as you can get. If it has been off the road a while you are probably out of luck - especially if it went to another state or salvage.

Best of Luck in your quest!!!

  • I contacted a couple pf DMV'S regarding my car, they would not release any info on previous owners because off US data protection and privacy laws.

  • If the registry was accurate it might be. I have been trying to put my Kar in for several months and I have had no success.

    Best of luck.

Some states allow the release of the data, but only to be used as "research" or for education. Usually this means you sign a form to this effect, which also states that you do not plan to contact any of the individuals.
