I came across a 65 K code convertible with no motor or trans and original front suspension was changed/shock towers are removed (person said there was a "massive" motor in it before that was removed al long time ago). Sheet metal is decent just surface rust and underside is decent as well not a rust bucket but the car does need a full restoration. I am new to the K code phenomenon so I have no idea what I should pay for this car and there appears to be a wide price range even for a rust bucket. Will someone educate this newbie to what a fair price range is? Thanks for educating the new guy...
To buy or not to buy and how much...

I remember a Konvertible about 10-15 years ago that fits your description. As I recall it was a Maroon color. I was surprised at the time that someone would do this modification to a Konvertible.

It's surprising what some people will do.
