1965 Ford Mustang GT K code – early July 1965 build. Restoration started but not finished. Original under dash GT fog light switch is still installed and the lower dash has the cut out above the steering column. Floor and both rear torque boxes are rusted and will need to be replaced. Both quarter panels and the radiator support have been replaced with NOS Ford parts, both of the cowl air vents have been replaced and both sides of the trunk floors have already been replaced. Hood, trunk and doors are rust free original (driver side door has a door skin installed). Engine compartment, rocker panels, wheel wells and the front/rear frame rails are rust free and the original steering box and sway bar are still present. Fenders are OEM Ford but are not original to the car. All other front end and interior sheet metal parts also come with the car (a mix of both NOS and OEM) as well as the front/rear seats, original windshield, original rear window, both quarter windows and a 9 inch hi-po rear end with separate 3rdmember and 3.50 gears (no axles).
The original engine, 4-speed transmission and rear end are missing. The car currently has a 8 inch rear end installed so the car is easily rolled around.
A number of hard to find K-code and unique GT parts are also available for sale for the buyer to include a freshly machined 1965 K code VIN stamped block with original hipo main caps (.030 bore), rebuilt VIN stamped K code 4 spd toploader transmission with all shifter parts, K code heads, original hipo manifolds, complete NOS hipo exhaust system, correct rebuilt K code carburetor, original rebuilt/recurved hipo distributor, correct rebuilt 3939 fuel pump, original double hump air cleaner, original valve covers, correct date coded radiator with NOS core installed, K code harmonic balancer, rebuilt hipo master cylinder and rebuilt hipo proportioning valve, original restored engine mounts with NOS rubber, correct original water pump housing, correct original aluminum bell housing, complete original hipo rear end with 3.50 gears and original emergency brake lines attached, original set of unrestored 1965 styled steel rims in excellent condition, NOS bumpers and original 1965 GT fog light grille in excellent condition, GT instrument cluster and gauges with 140 mph speedometer, original fuel cap in excellent condition, NOS GT and hipo fender badges, hipo exhaust extensions and chrome openings, chrome brake light housings and back up lights are also available - many other parts as well. The VIN stamped engine and transmission are not original to the car so those VIN's do not match the car VIN.
