Is this a Hipo distributor ?

  • It has an added stamping of C9OF-E to the left side which makes no sense either. That number is incorrect. It is the correct casting number on the shank. What are the advance numbers marked on the mechanical advance portion?

65 Koupe early San Jose Phoenician Yellow 4 speed
66 GT Koupe Dearborn Blue 4 speed
66 KGT San Jose fastback pony interior Silver Frost 4 speed
    64 Falcon sedan delivery 289 4 speed
    65 Ranchero 289 4 speed
    66 Corvette roadster 427/425 4 speed

  • Thanks Fred.

Where would I see the mech. advance number ?

Is that the stamping on the weights ?

From what I can tell by the spring colors ,it is set up like a hipo dist.

The numbers are stamped on the two open sections of the lower part of the distributor cam. This is where the stop hits near the springs. One will be like a 13R.

    Your springs appear correct.
