I just read the ad again and noticed it said the block was cracked. So, don't know if it would be of interest here.
Those are not K code blocks, both have standard 289 main caps .
There's never been a K code block, all 289 blocks are standard. it's the main caps that basically make it a hipo, but I didn't notice the caps were standard.

Yes, the main caps are standard. The 6K17 block is not for a 66 Kar as the date code is October 17, 1966 making it for a 67. If the blocks do not have Hipo main caps and one is cracked, the asking prices is pretty much a break even deal on everything plus shipping.

I would also want to see the crankshaft counterweight Brinell hardness test along with the original orange paint that might be left on the crank or rear of the block as its not stated in the add. Fred might want to add on the higher nickel content that K blocks might have been forged with.
