This is a NOS New Original Ford Fuel Pump for a 1965 Ford Mustang with 289 V8. This is an original CARTER Button Top fuel pump with the CARTER name and MADE IN USA cast into it. Keep in mind that although this is a 3939-S and a button top, it is NOT correct for a 1965 model. The casting of CARTER take it out of contention for being correct. The correct casting will be CARbureTER Made in USA.

I put this fuel pump on here as a warning to our members that this fuel pump is far from what it is represented to be. I have notified the seller numerous times on his errors, and he never changes anything to correct them. I will point out the reasons that this fuel pump is NOT for a 65 Hipo 289. First, the casting is a CARbureTER Made in Canada version which was used in 1969. The correct casting would be CARbureTER Made in USA. This one has a 3/8" inlet nipple rather than the correct 5/16" inlet nipple. Then there is the FE big block rocker arm which is incorrect for a small block. The internal diaphragm for the FE big block rocker arm is also incorrect for the small block rocker arm, so changing the rocker arm to a small block one will still be incorrect for functionality. Other than those items, this is a perfect Hipo 289 pump.
