Hi Fred, i was thinking that also as being a repo fan , on another note was the 67 k code cooling fan the same as a standard 67 289 mustang cooling fan , is so was it because they added a larger radiator or just cutting cost . Chuck.

I had an early type Hipo fan dated November or December 1966 which would be for a 67 Kar. I will be where that fan is later this week and I will check the date code. I have heard of both the cheesy fan or the Hipo fan on 67 Hipos. The 69 Boss 302 came with both the cheesy fan or a 5 blade flex fan.

The seller has reduced the price to $300 now even though there are new ones exactly like it on Ebay for just under $110.

Here is an Ebay auction for one used Hipo fan blade by Ebay member "gt35067" with a Buy-It-Now of $250.00:

This is an original 289 HIPO fan blade.
Look at all of the pictures closely. This fan looks to have spent the better part of its 56 years sitting in the elements.
There is pitting to all of the steel areas (see pictures).
It was blasted, primed and painted a few years ago. I just took it off the shelf and wiped the dust off.
On one of the blades there is a part number of 911960 and a date stamping of K63 (October 1963).
All of the blades have a "SC" stamping.
There is also a FoMoCo logo on one of the blades.
The blade with the FoMoCo logo looks to have been straightened on the one side. You can still see some tool marks (see pictures).
The 289 HIPO fans were factory balanced. This one appears to have balanced out without the need for any additional weight added.
Due to the late 1963 date I believe the fan was produced too early for the Mustang HIPO production but it would be correct otherwise.
I'm sure someone can make it look like new again but it also could be used as is.
Shipping box has a size of 16x15x7 and a weight of 5 lbs.

Ford Parts lists this exact part number for this 17.125" dia. fan w/5/8" centering hole for Fairlane 289 Spec. 63,64 and then including Mustang 289 Spec 65, 66, 67 and Mustang 68 289. In 69 it is listed as the fan blade for the Boss 302. A friend that owns a Cobra said he was sure it was correct for the 289 Cobra but I could not verify that.

This fan is dated as March of 1963 making it a very early date for even a 63 Hipo Fairlane. This design did not change at all for the later Hipo Mustangs for 64 1/2, 65 and 66. The latest date that I have seen for a 67 Mustang fan like this is December of 1966. Ford did make the change to the cheap looking standard fan some time after that December 1966 date for the 1967 model year.
