Mecum 1964 Fairlane HiPoGreat looking Kar!! It could benefit from having these correct 63/64 Hipo emblems but whoever buys it can deal with that later:

Best of luck with their sale.

Today's the day. Any guesses before it crosses the block on what the high bid will be? BTW, this car was the 2019 International Show Car Association Restored National Champion.

The market has proven to be so volatile lately that it is really tough to figure out where it is going. Some cars are taking hits and others are bid to surprising levels. I have not really followed 64 Fairlane Hipos as I had a couple of the "red headed stepchild" 65 Fairlane Hipos. Some of those 65 Fairlane Hipos have brought some surprising money and the 64 Fairlane Hipo always fared much better.
All that said, I am going to put it around $35K.

Hold on to your hat Fred. It sold for $77,000 plus the juice - $84,700. His reserve had been $100K. It was a really nice car (except for a couple of wrong items). Quality was off the charts.

Quality was off the charts. That is an incredibly high number for a 64 Fairlane Hipo although nowhere near what the seller had hoped for. Congratulations on that one!!
