Did he inquire about stamping numbers on it? Without the 3939S stamp or date code stamp plus the cosmetic issues turned me off. Also not fond of sellers that show boxes in their pictures and then state in the description "no box". Have you ever seen one not stamped before Fred?

Hi Richard and Quentin.
Regards, Jimmy Austin -
The only currently produced "stock" K code camshaft that I'm aware of is an Elgin E-811-S. Original Solid Lifter specs. Others may know of something else available. Fred probably has the timing gears you need. Welcome aboard.

"Would the car be worth significantly more if restored as a 4 speed and solid lifter car ?"
Yes, IMO.
The question is why are you concerned? If flipping it then it will be worth more the closer to original.
If you're planning on keeping it for yourself then build it the way that makes you happy. It's your car!
BTW, I've seen several 4 speed K's that have added A/C. -
HiPo Down Draft tubes, unicorns, hens teeth and an honest politician are all in the same rarity stratosphere! Good luck in your hunt.

I've seen the right side fender VIN checked by unbolting the topside and using hard plastic/rubber wedges to slightly lift the fender up. Then use a flashlight to check. Tape between the fender and door for protection.
-
The rivets on the door plate look suspect and the VIN does not look "right" in my opinion. Missing the stars at each end of the numbers and the strange spacing is not a deal breaker but does raise serious red flags. A more thorough inspection would be warranted.

Hi Phil, I have made a trade for a 70 Boss 302 Calypso Coral. Thanks everyone for your interest.

A/C was part of the "Electronics Package" option on the R. The package included A/C, Rear Camera and a few other items to make the car more civil/streetable. The R version of the GT350 was designed as a track car and guy's that track them do not need or want the extra weight of the Electronics Package. I did not plan on tracking and I live in Texas so the option was mandatory for me.
What area do you live? While waiting on pictures can you provide a few more details about your car. Exterior and interior color, additional options, when restored, etc.?
Direct email is preferred.

Hi Shannon, Please email some pictures to jimmyaustin50@ail.com
Where are you located? When was it restored? Sounds like a possibility.
Thanks, Jimmy Austin -
Looking to trade my 2016 Shelby GT350 R. This car was a VIP Special Order extended to me by Ford. This has the electronics package with Air Conditioning and a very unique color combo of Shadow Black with Blue over the top stripes. Documentation/paperwork/car cover/owners kit and copies of the VIP order provided. Around 2500 miles. Never tracked. No issues.
I am looking for the following as possible trades: 1965/66/67 K Code Fastback or Convertible only (No Coupes). 1969/70 Boss 302's, 1969/70 Cougar Eliminator, 1967 through 1970 Shelby. ONLY nice high end completed cars considered. No projects.
Are you tired of your vintage ride and want the ultimate late model Mustang/Shelby that has all the bells and whistles - including Air Conditioning? Send me an email to jimmyaustin50@gmail.com with your thoughts.

Hold on to your hat Fred. It sold for $77,000 plus the juice - $84,700. His reserve had been $100K. It was a really nice car (except for a couple of wrong items). Quality was off the charts.

Today's the day. Any guesses before it crosses the block on what the high bid will be? BTW, this car was the 2019 International Show Car Association Restored National Champion.

Here's some shots from when I had the Waldron concours system installed on a 65 that I owned a few years ago. Fit is "pretty good" but does require some tweaking. -
I was KCodeCoupe on the old forum. I've added a 65 Springtime Yellow K Fastback to the stable so I decided to change my handle to Hopeto. The new fastback had been in a 30+ year storage. I've started the restoration. Looks original in pics but has had a repaint several years before going in to hibernation.
