    Please note that earlier in the year this flywheel did NOT have the Brinnel test mark. Later in the year this same flywheel "magically" had the Brinnel test mark.

    Here is an Ebay auction by seller "jollyroge" for a used Hipo 289 flywheel with a starting bid of $0.99:

    Original Ford 289 Hi-Po flywheel for Shelby GT350 289 Cobra . Here is a nice 289 Hi-Po or K code flywheel . It was removed from an original Shelby GT350 engine . The part number on the back is C3OE-6380-B with a casting date of 6D21 ( April 21st1966). It is an official 289 Hi-Po unit as you can tell by the grind mark and Brinell test dent on the counterweight where they tested it for metal content and the orange paint commonly found on all 289 Hi-Po engine components .The balance on 289 K code or Hi Po engines was unique and slightly different from a standard 289 .The ring gear has a few worn teeth and may or may not need to be replaced .It is still in nice shape and the clutch face should clean up nice with a surfacing. It has never been cut or rebalanced that I can see. It was removed from the car by the 2nd owner many years ago. These are hard to find and this one is as original as they can get. Would be correct for any 289 Hi-Po powered car with a 10.5" clutch and 157 tooth ring gear. Including Falcon , Fairlane , Comet , Mustang , Shelbys and Cobras.This should cover anything from 63-67 . If you need one for your don't pass this up ! Winner pays for Fed Ex ground shipping to the lower 48 states . Good luck bidding !

The face has been machined and had rust inhibitor applied a few years back, just clean with brake cleaner and it should be ready to use. The teeth looked to be in good condition with a few of them having nicks as shown in the photos but very useable. Date code if 5A4 is 1965 / January / 04 Casting No. C30E-6380B Measures 13-1/4” in diameter to the outside teeth.
