From what I can see, about the only K part remaining is the VIN and it is covered. Yes, it has a 9 inch rear but not the correct one. A standard fastback would have been a better platform for these modifications however that is just my personal opinion. Somebody went to a lot of trouble to try to make this look like an original California Kar. The actual complete VIN appears to be 6T09K127494 and that would not have been sold in California originally as we already had the San Jose assembly plant here. The SHELBY license plate has a 1964 sticker on it and California did not have personalized plates until the 1970's. The CHP windshield inspection stickers were applied at random roadside safety inspections if you passed the inspection. That way you would not get pulled over for another inspection while that sticker was stll valid. As I recall, they were valid for 6 months. They changed colors just like the license tag stickers so that it was easier for an officer to see without getting right up on it. These inspections were done on city streets with no warning except for what appeared to be road construction signs. If you tried to turn around to avoid it a patrol vehicle was strategically placed to chase you down. These inspections were abandoned around 1969. The sticker on this does not appear correct as I do not recall a white border but only a solid color.
