Red Fastback near bottom of list.
Description:
This is a true California produced fastback with the rare factory automatic transmission. It is an original candyapple red car. This is a rust free, original body panel car in very nice overall condition. The original door data tag is on the car. We checked the engine and found the K-Code heads, intake manifold, dual point distributor, radiator fan, alternator pulley, exhaust manifolds, and harmonic balancer all to be correct and present. The carburetor has been changed to a modern Holley 4-barrel carburetor. The K-Code engine has been recently rebuilt and runs great. A large array of restoration and rebuild receipts totalling over $17,000 go with this Mustang.
The paint and exterior chrome are in excellent condition. Styled steel wheels are a nice curb appeal factory upgrade.
The black standard interior is in very nice condition. There are no nicks, cracks, or tears to be found. The interior shows really well.
The engine compartment is very clean and obviously well maintained. The engine starts easily, responds instantly to throttle pressure, makes no unusual noises, and does not smoke.
The underside of this fastback is rust free and structurally solid. There are no understructure issues. This is a sound car.
K-Code Mustangs represented less than 1% of 1965 and 1966 production. This was spread between coupes, convertibles, and fastbacks. It is easy to see that these are very rare Classic Mustangs. Factory red and factory automatic transmission single out this Mustang as one of the most rare and desirable built durng the 1965 and 1966 model years.
