C8ZE Replacement Heads

  • Sold for $1,076.00 by seller 66-67gt.

    DESCRIPTION:

This auction is for one matching pair of 1968 C8ZE-b factory service replacement HIPO heads. These are the heads sold over the counter by Ford, and used in the fords parts catalogs as replacement for your hipo heads. These heads have been baked, blasted, and magnafluxed by a local machine shop as good. They then recieved a new valve job, new seals, new freeze plugs, surfaces checked, and are ready to install on your engine. These have the 289 HP and C8ZE-B on the tops of the heads, and 302 C8ZE-B on the bottom of the heads. Both heads have the hipo cast, one head has the number 19, and one has the number 20. (see pictures) These have had some slight port work done in the past on the exhaust, but have not been hogged out. I found a spot in one of the chambers. (see picture, second one from the top on right ) This looks like something was on top of the piston at one time and hit the head. The machine shop said it was ok at this spot and would not affect its use. It looks like a scratched spot on the side of the chamber, and can be used as is with this spot. These are a perfect set of heads to use in a re-build of a factory 289 hipo motor. This set of heads and my block on another auction is a good start on building a original service replacement motor for your 289 HI Po car. This would hold you over until you found your matching number motor parts. This would also be a nice set of heads to use in place of your original heads. That way you could have fun with the car now and put it back to original later. These heads will be double boxed and double padded in two single boxes for shipment. If you want to pick them up at forward air, than I will have to add 50.00 for a crate from a local cabinet shop. These are being sold as a set to use as is for a driver or stoke applications with the stoke springs. If the buyer wants to use them for a stroker motor, than you will have to do some more porting, and change the springs to your cam. These are a nice set of original Hi Po set of service replacement heads to have and use, or have and keep. I have a hipo service replacement block on another auction, if you need it to match these. I will be posting a original set of C3AE-D hipo rods, and a crane 289 replacement crank on 10/10. I have these at the local machine shop now and when they are finished, I will post them. This will be a good start for a buyer on a 289 hipo build, so keep me marked. Please check out my other auctions as well as my future auctions for ford mustangs and cougars.

Hello, I am selling a pair of matching 289 HiPo heads, C8ZE-B 9 K 23. I bought these being told they were crack free and in good condition. There has been some port work on exhaust ports, and I believe larger intake valves have been installed. Sparkplug hole threads all look good and heads have roller rockers.
