    <b>DESCRIPTION</b>:

This is left over from a 1965 Shelby GT 350, but will fit other small block Ford engines. Part #C50F-12131-B. Good used condition. All wiring, clips and seal are there. I had this on a 1966 289 HIPO for some time, and it works great. Uses 2 sets of points and 1 condenser, which are included. It is manual advance only, as it should be. Great chance to have a correct distributor in your original Shelby or clone car.

  • Here's one that <b>SOLD</b> for serious money...$385.00!

    <b>DESCRIPTION</b>:

Back in the early 80's, my dad and I had a '65 and '66 Mustang we were restoring. We sold them in the late 80's, but I still have some parts I'd like to get rid of.

This is the first one to go - an original dual point distributor, FoMoCo 12127. It reads:

    <center><b>C50F 12127 E FoMoCo</b></center>

    <center><b>4MA</b></center>

I originally purchased it from a Willow Auto in Illinois, and they carefully and professionally rebuilt it. As you can see from the pictures, it is in excellent shape - great finish, very tight, ready to install.

After taking the pictures I noticed the tiny bit of surface rust on the one clip and the end of shaft which you might notice in the pictures. I am leaving these as is - they will easily buff off. The pictures seem to hide one of the clips - both are there.

  • Here's a used FoMoCo stamped dual point in fairly poor condition that <b>SOLD</b> for $177.50.

    <b>DESCRIPTION</b>:

This is a used distributor from a 289 HiPo, its a FoMoCo C5OF-E part number, dual points, with no vacuum advance. The date is not readable, because the distributor was seized in the engine and someone used a pipe wrench to turn it. When they did, it marked the housing, and the date code is no longer readable. The part number is still ok, and it did not hurt the performance, just the date was obscured.

  • This FoMoCo stamped dual point <b>SOLD</b> for $316.09. (NOTE: Although the seller wasn't sure of the exact meaning of the date code "4LE", it means the last week of November, 1964.)

    <b>DESCRIPTION</b>:

You are bidding on an original Ford 289 HiPo distributor. This distributor is correct for early 65 Shelby and 1965 K-Code car. Housing is in good shape with no pitting. Build date on the distributor is November, 1964. Day is stamped E. (4LE) I have never seen a day stamp of E??? Not sure what this means, EXPERIMENTAL????? C5OF-E stamp and date code stamp are all the same type of stamp and looks to be original. Also, this is a FoMoCo distributor correct for early Shelby. I can send additional pictures of stamp if requested.

  • Guys,

I have a brand new dual point distributor I've been carrying around since the mid-70s. Seems from the postings here it may be for a 65 Shelby or 289 Hi-Po. Here are the numbers:

    Shaft casting No.: C50F-12131-B

    FoMoCo No: C50F-12127-E

    Date Code: 9F6

Any idea which vehicle/engine came with this distributor?

    Thanks,

    Les

    Guys,

Forgot to mention, it says "Autolite" on it, not FoMoCo.

  • Your distributor is <i>not an original</i> part from a K code Mustang or Fairlane. It is a "Service Replacement" dual point distributor, and is date coded June of 1969. (The last factory K code cars were built in 1967.) These replacement distributors were available for many years over the counter as an ignition upgrade for the 221/260/289/302 small block Fords. It is also a correct <i>replacement</i> distributor for any original 289 HiPo engine.

  • <BLOCKQUOTE id=quote><font size=1 face="Verdana" id=quote>quote:<hr height=1 noshade id=quote> So, based on it being a replacement distributor, does that diminish its value to a restorer?<hr height=1 noshade id=quote></BLOCKQUOTE id=quote></font id=quote><font face="Verdana" size=2 id=quote>Most likely as a "restorer" probably wouldn't want this unit because the date is off and it has the wrong script. However, someone (like me) considering a conversion to Petronix may want a distributor that looks correct for the modification. Contact me with a price if you're looking to sell.<BLOCKQUOTE id=quote><font size=1 face="Verdana" id=quote>quote:<hr height=1 noshade id=quote>It is also a correct replacement distributor for any original 289 HiPo engine. <hr height=1 noshade id=quote></BLOCKQUOTE id=quote></font id=quote><font face="Verdana" size=2 id=quote>I don't know if it's also correct as service replacement for a Boss 302, but many Boss guys run these distributors.

All the original Boss 302's I've seen have a vacuum advance distributor on them. I don't know what was used as a "service replacement" for the Boss. No doubt adding a HiPo dual point distributor with mechanical advance can improve the performance of a Boss.

  • <BLOCKQUOTE id=quote><font size=1 face="Verdana" id=quote>quote:<hr height=1 noshade id=quote>All the original Boss 302's I've seen have a vacuum advance distributor on them. <hr height=1 noshade id=quote></BLOCKQUOTE id=quote></font id=quote><font face="Verdana" size=2 id=quote>They actually made a servicement replace for a boss with the dual vacuum advance (D1ZX... I think).

Anyway, I have a friend who worked as a Ford mechanic who has a 19K mile all original 69 Boss. He told me when he went to the parts counter and asked for a Boss distributor (he also hords parts), he was asked which he wanted as both were listed as replacements.

  • This used FoMoCo dual point distributor <b>SOLD</b> for $406.56.

    <b>DESCRIPTION</b>:

Here is an original Ford dual-point distributor (C5OF-12127-E) that fits all 289 cubic inch High Performance engines from 1964 thru 1967. It is a FoMoCo casting (not an Autolite), and it is dated 5-AA which I believe was the first week of January 1965. I have had the housing glass beaded to clean it. It is tight with no slack in the shaft. It has no stripped screw holes in the plate where two point sets and condenser go. It is a very nice looking unit with no corrosion or dents in the housing. It would be a nice distributor for your "K" model Mustang or Shelby if you need an original dated unit. Thank you for your interest in my auction. Pardon my photos, the distributor is far better than pictures show.
