nos speedo cable ?

Hi is the correct cable for a 65 mustang the one with the foam rubber at the firewall or the one with the rubber grommet that looks like a penis , i have both and would like to know the right one to use thanks Bob

The original installed at the factory had the foam type.

The Ford NOS replacement part has a rubber sleeve that

is too narrow to fit snugly in the firewall hole.

I used a replacement from Ford, removed the rubber sleeve

and used an excellent used foam sleeve instead.

I have gotten the reproduction foam rubber sleeve from Mac's antique auto parts thats made for early Broncos and it looks pretty darn nice and I think it will pass once installed on the Mustang cable.
