I have a question concerning FB interior quarter trim panels.
The quarter trim panels that I received with my kar when I bought it are
scratched, gouged, and have a number of holes in them. They need to be
replaced.
The additional sets that I have found are a little different from mine, in
that they have a different part number.
My set has an additional squared mounting tab at the center of the top edge of each qtr
trim panel. It also has a larger forward-lower mounting tab with a key
notch cut into the mounting tab.
The part number on my trims are: Driver side C5ZB-C331071-EW
Passenger side C5ZB-C331070-EW.
The other sets I have seen recently have only two mounting tabs (differently
shaped) on the top of the trim (without the middle tab) and also have a
smaller forward-lower mounting tab that does not include a key notch.
The part number on those trims are: Driver side C5ZB-C331071-KW
Passenger side C5ZB-C331070-KW.
What is a probable explanation for these differences? Is it that I have the 66 variety, because my kar was a Metuchen, June 1965 manufacture? The other sets are from earlier 65 cars.
Thanks.
