• OK, the steering wheel is new along with the parts in the column but when the horn ring is applied, it shorts and blows the fuse. It worked fine initially when I put it together. We pulled the steering wheel, touched the horn contacts together and it works fine. We tried parts from the old steering wheel to no avail. I feel that it's something simple but we can't find it.

    Totally stomped in Wildomar, Ca.

  • You may have an exposed wire or bad ground somewhere that is contacting the metal ring? I had to mess with my setup to get it to work good and consistently but it didn’t short on me

  • It's too easy to ground the horn wire putting the wheel back on and a blown fuze is the inevitable result. Simple process:

Pop out the fuze, install the steering wheel, then reinstall the fuze.
