Alternator wiring

I am reinstalling my alt. and I am having a brain

3 wires one was on positive lug, one on the field, and one on the ground, no other wires , anything needed on stater lug I do not think it had anything on it. 66

No wire attaches to the stator post on a 66.

As stated eariler the stator terminal isn't used on 1966 Mustangs. It's used on 1965 model Mustangs equiped with idot lights. Their is an extra wire in the alternator harness for it.
