K resto blog update

  • Charles, All I can say is simply WOW!!! What a GREAT car!! you did a superior job on it-like many I've been following your restoration on it and only wish I'd been able to make it to the show to see it in person.

  • Very nicely done and I want to ask do you have any pics of door color lines when they were painted?Trying to get a good idea of where the color lines are so any help I would appreciate?

  • Believe it might have varied between assembly plants. Typically, there is a heavy to light line of body color on the interior side of the door along the bottom, which then follows up in a unison line up into the door weather strip groove on the vertical edges of the door. On the SJ car, a slight bit of body color could be seen where the door curves to go up. If you lay a piece of tape in the vertical groove and just let it roll around the bottom, you'll see what I mean.
