Personally, I would keep it as it was stock. That sounds like a nice color combo and a very interesting car/history that will be forgotten if you change it. Any car can sport a shelby hood and stripes. Keep your car unique, and don't be afraid to drive and show it (:

Nothing wrong with a 5 speed, asa you can keep the stock handle and nobody will know the difference. I wouldn't be scared to drop your freshened up K code motor in for driving, either. Your car will be happier that way (:

I also would keep the color combo, a refreshing change to all the red repaints!! The original engine might be better on the shelf, with a Mex capped hipo clone engine to wear out. As a friend of mine said, " you can't get another original for your Kar, and these things do wear and sometimes break!! This last part depends on how much you drive it, and how worn it is already.
