Charles, Do you have a link to the ECS decals please?
I'm assuming these are the top quality concours correct ones....
My coolant decal on my July '65 Dearborn car was puton the top edge of the radiator support just off center of the radiator cap about 1/2" if that helps...not sure how that placement was arrived at though....

one of two things. throwout bearing or input shaft bearing on the trans.
-
i have a turnbuckle with fittings on each end that fit inside the pulleys. i adjust the belt tension until there is 3/8 to 1/2 inch deflection in the longest section of the belt.

I have my intake off at present. I read that this plate should be taken off, but how do you do it without shearing the rivets ?
What is the point of taking it off ?, where does it vent or go to ?
Thanks

i use a sharp chisel to cut the rivits. http://www.amkproducts.com has new ones or you can tap the holes and use 1/4-20 bolts with loctite on the threads. you missed the point in the other post. to clean it out so that trash under it does not circulate in the engine.

I just got my 1965 289 k code intake back from cleaning at the machine shop. The aluminum bowl that rests on the underside (not sure of the name) which is held on my the carb studs has a small hole in it. The hole is on the tip of a singular small bevel at the bottom (looks like a nose). Should this be patched? replaced?
<hr height=1 noshade id=quote></BLOCKQUOTE id=quote></font id=quote><font face="Verdana" size=2 id=quote>
first that baffle is not held on by the carb studs. it should have 4 drive rivits. did the shop that did the cleaning remove it to clean under it?? if not it needs to be removed & cleaned in that area. as mentioned above that hole is supposed to be there, maybe a vent.

that's a great kar. i saw it last october when i attended the mca judges meeting there at skillman's place. dunno if it is worth the asking price but it is still an unusual model. i had a 65 fairlane back in the 80's. it was the same color & had belonged to my granny who bought it new.

Charles: There was a guy over on the VMF who said HE would deduct for an incorrect overflow hose if he were to judge a car-I think he IS a judge, he didn't say if it was in Concours trailered or Thorobred though....
<hr height=1 noshade id=quote></BLOCKQUOTE id=quote></font id=quote><font face="Verdana" size=2 id=quote>
i think that was me. i was referring to the radiator overflow hose and not the washer hoses. i never deduct for washer hoses not having ribs unless it is a thoroughbred or unrestored entry. i have deducted many times for incorrect radiator overflow hoses, i.e. wrong type of hose, too thick tubing. i always look for the ribs on this hose. in these areas i would treat a concours driven entry the same as a concours trailered.
