    Hi Rene,

Thanks for the congrats and yes,Ray bought my K.

Will miss it very much but from my many conversations with Ray,I am sure it is going to a good home. How many K's do you estimate are down under?

I have always had a fasination for amphicars. I might buy one of them and keep it for a while just to see what it is like to drive into a lake. All the best, Ed

Yes it is the same car. I have since discovered the correct VIN on the block and the tranny. Then the BJ K that went for 68K. I have quite a few people interested just from this post. I am negotiable as interested parties know. If I get what I want it bodes well for the value of our K-codes. If not, I get to keep it and that is just fine with me. I wiil keep you all posted. Thanks, Ed

I think you were selling this car last year for $43k, correct?

Is this the same price that you are selling the car for today?

The market has softened since then. An exceptional car should hold it's value, but it's not going to increase in one year from 43k to 68k in this market.

I consider convertibles and fastbacks to be similar in value. Only know the BJ K from TV. Looked good to me but maybe in person I would see a different story. If I recall correctly the BJ K did not have the original carb. Mine is original along with the entire rebuilt drivetrain, exhaust manifolds, distributor, fan, disc brakes and working AM radio.

Getting quite a few interested parties via e-mail just from this post yesterday. I will let you guys know how I make out. Thanks,Ed

Times being what they are, it will be time to sell my 1965 GT K-code fastback this spring. Wanted to give you guys the heads up so you are not suprised to see it advertised. Complete restoration was finished in 2007. It is #'s matching, rangoon red with black pony interior. Console, rally pac, 5 red lines, styled steel wheels. Scheduled build date 6/1/65. Because I am usually judging other classes at shows I unfortunately did not get to meet those of you that saw this kar at various shows the last couple of years. I hope you admired it like I do. Won best in show at the Cedarville NY Car Classic last August. I beleive the K that sold at the Barrett Jackson auction for 68k with the buyers premium was similar in condition to mine so that will probably be my asking price. If any of you are interested, have questions or want pictures please e-mail me at etietz@stny.rr.com

    Thanks, Ed

    Hi Mike,

I was born and raised on LI. Raised in Bellmore. I now live upstate in Cooperstown. Where do you live? I have a restored 65 Red K GT fastback w/black pony interior. What color is your interior? I come to LI to visit family and friends from time to time. Would love to see your project. Anyway, welcome to the site and keep us posted. Ed

Thanks for the info Rick and good luck with your sale. Ed

No offense taken Kevin...I was just indirectly commenting facetiously about the "special" price offered to us for the heads.

sorry Ed..my Bad...an attempt at humor.

    ====================================================

    Special Ed:

Best place in the country to buy parts and cars... Cooperstown. I got a '69 W-30 car for peanuts, and the AZ collector with 50+ cars, buys my my L-78/88 parts, bought a '71 GS X for next to nothing.

His was under a car cover for decades, every panel looked like a pump Remington had blasted it from 300 meters.

On the W-30, I kept the 12 bolt with 4.30 Pos-A-Traction. The rest was worth $20 a ton for scrap iron minus gas tank and oil pan.

Buffalo might be in the running with excessive salt spreading. Albany looks like Paradise in compason.

Even tracks on the door glass were rusted.

No '65 Mustangs had J30 components in them from the same year.

Hard steel alloy seats, silicon bronze guides are much better than 1965 or 1966 factory materials. They did not envision: low octane 93 gas, no lead and 10% methanol on pump gas.

+ I pay extra, $$, for a Ford only or Cobra shop to work on 428/427 parts.

Anybody and can go to a Chevy shop or a shop around the corner, that did Honda heads 30 minutes ago.

Bad comparison your heads vs these heads and ZERO hours.

Looks like 6 buyers want these heads, Ray is in 1st place, 5 more days and they are history.
