Tom and I have early Fomoco boxed bellhousings. Mine has a spot of orange paint about 2 or 3 inches in diameter right behind where the starter goes. I was not aware that there was any difference in bellhousings used for a hi-po than a standard 289 car. Anyone know why mine would have orange paint and Tom's does not? I have a photo I could post if I knew how to post it. Part # on my bellhousing is C5AA-6394-B, and part #s on box are C5AZ-6392-A, C5AA-6392-B? or D?

I believe the date on the 64-67 hi-po bell housing is located on the inside as the year only. C5 part # on an outside edge. At least the NOS piece I have is that way. Once installed, no way to tell what date the piece is. Unless your taking photos of the date to display with the car, I don't beleive there are any visual differences between which year housing you have. If any one has a housing dated on the outside, I'd be interested to learn about it.

Ad indicates a non original motor. A repro door tag to me is a red flag that someone along the line has made some changes to bring a higher price and then throw away the orignal to conceal what has been done. Otherwise, why not at least keep the original door tag as a souvenir?

The ralley pack is a '66 low profile. I have not tested it, but will guarantee it to work or I'll refund full price including shipping. The wiring attached to the pack is all there and in great condition. I do not have the seperate ralley pack harness.

I ended up with 3 NOS valve covers for the same side of the car: the side with the breather. One has a Fomoco box and the other no box. I'd sell the boxed part for $200 and the non-boxed for $175 plus shipping. Both are in similar condition. Part # on the box is C6ZZ-6582-C

NOS set of Autolite SX plug wires $750

    (5) Goodyear white wall "power cushion" tires. 6.95-14. One has about 85% tread left, other 4 have 100%. $850 for all

Excedlent used original black 8K ralley pack. Perfect paint, perfect guages. Fomoco 8 cyl tag still attached. Missing one of the mounting brackets. $500.

    Prices plus shipping.

I have several looms/harnesses that are NOS. All but 1 have the Fomoco logo. My Underdash has a very late 60's white Ford tag. Most of these tags are rolled around itself. The part numbers on these are the last part of the tag so the number is shown. My NOS Headlight feed, underdash, engine feed, 2 spd wiper, console, door speaker/courtesy light, trunk, 4 spd switch harness and rally pack all have rolled tags. However, the GT fog pigtails, alternator harness, backup and park lights all have the Fomoco tags stuck together as you've described. From my observation this is a part sepcific detail. The wiring that tends to be shorter than about 12" is labeled with a tag stuck together, where the longer harnesses are rolled. However, I only have one of each to look at. Mine are all assembly line version harnesses. Perhaps later Ford replacements could be different.

I have a friend who has a folder of notes on this car from various times the car was for sale since the late 80's. The car was Allen Stewart's car a while back. I called Allen when the car was listed on E-Bay a few months ago, and he confirmed much of my firend's notes. Back in the early 90's, the car had severe rust, frame damage, one of the quater pannels was damaged, it was NOT a factory GT, and the drive train was not with the car. This tells the story why the Motor and trans do not have VIN stamping now. Fenders have been changed: drivers side was nicer than the passenger prior to restoration. Don't want to be too negative here, but need to paint a picture of this car's history for anyone looking for a good concourse or t-bred. It would make a nice driver or collector car.

Since I've watched the thread between 6F09Kanada and Mcfly this past week re-unite a hi-po engine back to the original Kar it has peeked my curiosity to see a K engine registry of some sort. I'd suspect there are hundreds of K owners who would love to find their lost engines again. Has anyone attempted to start any such registry project?

I can see there would be a majority of onwers holding a mismatched engine unwilling to part with it, until they have a comparable replacement. Perhaps a registry would at least help to estabolish where engines are at and maybe re-unite a few more.

Since assembly line GT cars did not come with rocker moldings, I've found that removing the sill plate molding and feeling to see if there are filled holes for the rocker moldings is one my methods of verifying GTs...as well as what has been mentioned. These holes would be very difficult to smooth out on the inside without replacing the entire rocker panel. There is not much room to put a grinder down there. Check for original spot welds and dates on your rocker to assure yourself its the original panel.

Just something to consider: The later Ford replacement exhausts typically are not dated like the original assembly line pieces are. Although your NOS exhaust is a nice upgrade from using repros, you may loose some points with your NOS exhaust not having dates on them. Maybe Charles can help how many points would be at stake, if any?
