BTW: any estimates as to how the .030 bore and the .015 cut to the heads has changed the cubic inch size of the engine or the compression? has this washed each other out?

    <hr height=1 noshade id=quote></BLOCKQUOTE id=quote></font id=quote><font face="Verdana" size=2 id=quote>

I think both changes will raise comp ratio. cutting the heads made the chamber smaller, the over bore made the volume of the cylinder larger, to be compressed into the same (relative)area, unless the pistons were designed to compensate for that.

FORD HOPING 50% AT WORK TOMORROW

    Some Recalled to Plants Today

Chicago Tribune (1963-Current file) - Chicago, Ill.

    Date: Nov 22, 1964

    Abstract (Document Summary)

Nov 22, 1964 - Ford Motor company expressed hope today that it could return half of its 80000 strike-idled employes to work Monday, but expressed doubt it could get ... Some manufacturing plants continued production, despite assembly line shut downs. So did Ford's steel plants in sub- urban Dearborn. ...

I worked for a large Ford dealer in Ohio. 2 Ford stores, 2 Dodge, 2 KIA and a VW. I was there for 5 years and 911 came and I lost over 1/2 my 401K.(It never rebounded by the way.) 1st week of Dec, that year, my employer let over 25% of us go, blaming 911. Lived off of 401K money. 6 month's later they called me back, I was the only one, but with a pay cut and did the work I was doing, but now for all the stores. As the years passed, they sold 1 store and another, moved some around and consolidated. Flash forward to end of 06, only 1 Ford and VW left. Another Merry Christmas, "we think you still make too much and we sold everthing off, so your gone again". Less than 7 months after that, they closed all together. 6 more months no work, spent rest of the 401K.

My Mustang is the only thing of value that I own and don't owe money on. And in Ohio, things are not great.

So, yes, I thought about selling and it kills me to still think it after owning it for 33 years.

I'm looking at your picture and reading your older post that showed the install instructions. It seems that the roll pin is what pushes the secondary lever open and the vacuum rod is just along for the ride? What closes the secondaries? Do you have the washers installed? I don't understand what they do, but from the picture in Mustangs Unlimited, the repop they have doesn't show the washers as part of the kit.

Back in the 70's, we just tied the levers together with some wire, I didn't know about this kit. Was that a $1.50 price stamp?

is the progressive mechanical secondary kit the only way to upgrade? was/is there a spring change to bring them in earlier but still stay vacuum? since I changed the rear gears, the RPM's climb slower, thus it seems like it takes longer for them to open. I think the mechanical kit would be better, but just checking options. any testimonials would be welcome. Bill

many of us with cars not following the letter of the orginal design are searching for the right sound, and the Arvinode sounds very like what I and others might want, should it be do-able..... anyone else?<img src=images/icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=images/icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

    fast forward to about 5:50

It is tough know for sure but you get an idea via video.

I am running Motorcraft BF42's (BSF42C) 2 years now. Same set, no problems with fouling.

I sold 2 (unused) sets of Autolite BF32's in the 40 dollar each range.

I have some more sets that were in the car for a summer, which is a few hundred miles, if you want the original plugs.

Though Motorcraft does not make BF32, they still do have a BF22, but I thought the 32's were too cold for street driving.

Just got an e-mail from Liberty Classic. I ask about them making a HIPO every 6 months or so, it may have paid off.

"We will be releasing a Shelby Cobra 427 in February 2010, and possible a Shelby 289 later in 2010.

    Thank you.
