I did a quick google search and it looks like it is ok for the employer to open any and all mail it gets, regardless of who it is addressed to.

Taking what ever is in the package is another matter, and not giviing it to the person is just plain crappy.

"There is a common misconception that it is illegal to open mail addressed to someone else that has been delivered to you. There is no federal statute that prevents you from opening mail not addressed to you once it has been delivered by the Postal Service. If you take something that was in the mail you might violate a state law against stealing. If you use information contained in the mail for a wrongful purpose like identity theft, you are breaking state and federal law, but opening the mail is not illegal in itself.

    ...the question remains,<i>who makes them that fit, that drop in and don't need to be modified</i>...<hr height=1 noshade id=quote></BLOCKQUOTE id=quote></font id=quote><font face="Verdana" size=2 id=quote>

Yes, that has been the main reason I don't have them. You see some in the Mustang catalogs that say 'won't fit with HIPO Z-bar' and ask yourself 'how can that be since the Tri-y was made for the Shelby?' I have seen a couple different size tubes used, and if the pictures are accurate, some different 'Y' configurations. Bell housing and steering linkage problems are other issues.

About 3 years ago, I talked to somebody at Scott Drake. He told me the one's that they supply are made exactly like the original version Shelby used and will fit a HIPO. He offered a list of vendors that sold their version. Now that said, I don't know if Shelby had to persuade them to fit back then or not, so I never pulled the trigger.

Stock manifolds and pipes with 2" Magnaflow (PN 11124), no resonators. Not too loud at cruise, no drone, nice roar under power. May have gone Arvinode if I didn't have this system waiting. Removed the trumpets and have 3.5" open tips. There are some clips on Youtube. Would like to add Tri-y's some day, thinking it would be a little louder.

In the original post, he said it "used a 1/4 tank of gas", thats what my gas guage comment was addressing. The gauge may move a 1/4 but that doesn't mean he used 4 gallons of gas. (Of course, he didn't say how far he went on any given outing, but it's implied he isn't going very far, and that he is actually using a 1/4 tank. Just wanted to throw in another angle.)

True, indicated speed has nothing to do with MPG, but if the wrong speedo gears are in the car, the speedometer AND odometer will both be wrong. For what it's worth, most speedo's read faster than actual speed, and that is by design. The odometer would be accurate though. New cars are far more accurate, to within 2 MPH at 60, but through the 80's-mid 90's, it could have been off by up to 10%. 60's-70's were no better I would guess. Ford published a service info stating this fact.

I like the idea of the GPS, will have to do that next summer to check my speedo/odo combination.

I think a hypereutectic piston can be forged or cast. Compared to cast pistons that would have been used in our cars, even the cast hypereutectic version is way better.

Just a thought, but you may want to consider the accuracy of the gauge. Since I put a new tank and sender in mine, it does not read like the original (that I should put back in I guess). When I show a 1/4, it fills with only 8 gal. Your gauge may be dropping faster than the the gas in the tank.

To hi-jack the thread, I guess the tank could be my problem, but I would I'm inclined to think sender. Any body with a similar problem?

Back in the 60's, Holman-Moody did everything for and with FORD. My best friend's dad had a Holman-Moody built medium riser 427 in the family boat, another neighbor had a tunnel port 427 in a flatbottom. Holman-Moody also built a lot of street motors for the local hot shots. <hr height=1 noshade id=quote></BLOCKQUOTE id=quote></font id=quote><font face="Verdana" size=2 id=quote>

There are two 69/70 Falcons running around in my area with 427's stuffed in them. They are both H/M engines, per one owner. When I talked to him, he said they bought both motors a while back and thought Falcons would be a good home.

I intend to purchase a set of radials for the street to go on styled steel wheels for my 65 FB. I will purchase them from one of the usual vendors. I will not show the Kar in these tires at MCA events, so historical correctness is not paramount.

What I'm looking for is something that rides well and has a nice look with raised letters. It will be for the 14" rims.

Any suggestions for a tire based on your experience?

    Appreciate it,

If you don't have the wheels yet, you could go with the 15" version of the SS. You will have a wider choice of tire size and brand.

I have 15" Magnum's and like the 'bigger' look, but it was mainly tire choices that sent me to 15". Running Goodrich Touring T/A's, 215/60 but thinking of switching to 205/65.

    <BLOCKQUOTE id=quote><font size=1 face="Verdana" id=quote>quote:<hr height=1 noshade id=quote>

Absolutely horrible and the tire shop could never get them balanced right. Tried to tell us the wheels were bent, <hr height=1 noshade id=quote></BLOCKQUOTE id=quote></font id=quote><font face="Verdana" size=2 id=quote>

Being the every day car, I realize you may not be talking about an old classic, but....

Keep in mind those old wheels are 'lug centric' and need to be balanced using the lug holes with an adaptor. A young guy may not know that and try to balance them using the cones for the newer 'hub centric' wheels. The wheel would wobble and look bent or out of round. The SS or Magnum's would be impossible to balance correctly with the cones.

I have some Focus parts on E-bay that have generated interest in the UK and Germany. I had in the auction 'USA only' but these guys are begging, and that raises a flag. What are the pitfalls of international shipping? It wouldn't be so bad being out the parts, but 100.00 shipping costs would hurt. I would only accept paypal, don't think I could get burned there. Maybe these are hard to come by over there.

I saw a blank paint code 65 car a few years ago at a MCA show here in Ohio. It was painted a non-Mustang assembly plant Ford color, still had original darker grey paint (not mine. my car has the 'O' stamp, color was changed in the 70's). The owner said that back then, you could order a non-Mustang color and they would leave the paint code blank.
