The distributor is not correct having a vacuum advance. The steering wheel is incorrect for the interior as it should be woodgrain and the fuel pump is the 1965 style. It has an automatic transmission block plate. It has standard style 1965 engine mounts. It is missing the backup lights which are standard in 1966. Possibly has an 8 inch rear end but the pictures are not that clear. These are just the quick and easy things to see.

This damper is a Ford produced "service replacement" harmonic balancer for SBF 289 cubic inch High Performance (HIPO) 271 HP V8 engines. Back in the day (after 1966) if you bought one from a dealer it would be in a box marked "C5OZ-6316-C" but the part inside would have the "C8ZE-A" engineering number (replacing the original engineering number). The balancer was revised to accommodate 1967 HiPo's fitted with A/C crank pulleys (information provided by "Hemikiller" and "Woodchuck" on Vintage Mustang Forum and Bob Mannel).
This damper is in excellent condition. The rubber isolator "ring" is completely smooth with no "cracks" or any sign of deterioration. The damper has been lightly glass bead blasted and painted with DupliColor "Ford Semi Gloss Black" paint. The balancer pretty much (to me) looks brand new!
