Here we have a real deal 289 Hipo cooling fan. In 1963 Ford designed the 289 Hipo 271 Horsepower for their race program with Cobra's and Sunbeam Tigers. These motors were equipped with many special increased performance items like this 4 blade fan. We also have everything from a complete motor to many of the other items including extra heads, intakes, fuel pumps, Dual point distributors, exhaust manifolds, balancers, oil slingers and a host of other associated items.
This piece, made with Ford specifications has a higher quality steel and a stronger, more durable design than any reproduction.
This 4 blade fan has an added pitch to cool these motors which were pushed to much higher demands. As is shown in the photos this fan has seen an accident and needs a bit of trueing to the white tipped blade which is bent. Stamped with the fomoco stamp you will need to give it some attention to return it to service. All 4 blades are secure with the Ford rivets.
These engines were designed for racing performance, and the knowledgeable Ford enthusiast will recognize this piece instantly.
This slightly damaged piece does have some seasoning in the way of very small minor pits which are hard to see. Being skilled in the service needed this is sure to meet the needs of a classic K code owner who insist on only Ford original pieces. Not A reproduction here, don't let this Genuine Ford one get away!
