New guy here to ask y’all’s expert opinion on a K code carb

  • Hello all! Let me start out saying that I’m not a K code owner, but I do own a ‘66 GT fastback A code that I restomodded years ago.
Sometime back I purchased an Autolite 4100 from a guy on Craigs List or a local trader paper to make an “art project” out of it. It was going to be a lamp of some kind that lit up internally. It’s been in my garage for at least 15 years. When we moved I almost threw it out because of all the clutter I’ve collected.
Now I’m cleaning up things and pulled this out of the parts bin to take photos and post it up on eBay. Of course I ran the ID tag and it’s telling me it’s a ‘66 HiPo carb for a manual trans.
Now before I jump to conclusions I wanted to ask here. As far as I know, someone might have just put this ID tag from another carb on this one.

Needless to say, I will be selling it either way to clean up the garage some. If it’s truly a K carb, I hope I can help someone here out.

  • I’d open it and check the primary booster to make sure it’s correct M. I’m sure Fred or one of the others will confirm that it looks to be true hipo carb. Has correct cast date, rib on the manual choke. Great part to find extra in the garage. Would have been an expensive lamp!
