A matching-numbers example of the iconic Mustang, in rare ‘K-Code’ specification with LOW MILEAGE!
Under the bonnet sits the original ‘K-Code’ 289ci (4.7L) High-Performance V8, powering the rear wheels through a Top Loader four-speed manual transmission.
This Rare low mileage K CODE has been sympathetically restored with a focus on originality, and photographs documenting the process are included in the sale.
EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES
This Mustang left the San Jose production line in January 1965 and was sold new in Los Angeles before later being exported to the Netherlands, where it is now offered for sale
The seller confirms that this car retains its original, numbers matching engine.
The car has been resprayed in its original shade of Vintage Burgundy and features its original chrome trim as well as ‘High Performance 289’ badges on the front wings.
Inside the car is all original with all original dash cluster and many parts are original to the car, with only the seats being reupholstered. As well as the original Ford radio and three central gauges denoting water temperature, amps, and oil pressure. Accompanying the car are various historic documents and photographs of the restoration.
CONDITION
There is no known bodywork damage and the paintwork is reported to be in excellent condition overall and presents with a pleasing shine. The chrome trim is original to the vehicle and shows some bubbling and pitting; the restorer chose to retain these factory items for the sake of originality, rather than replacing them with aftermarket parts.
Moving inside, the cabin is in good shape, save for some scuffing and wear on the dashboard, small imperfections on the rear side panels, what appears to be a very small tear in the rear leather seat back. There is some pitting and tarnishing on a few of the dials and controls, all signs of original parts still there
No mechanical or electrical faults have been detected.
