Here is one of the rarest Shelby intakes. And one of the cleanest ones I’ve ever seen. This is a very rare intake to start with but this one is a single 4 carb set up. Almost unheard of. As you can see in the last picture i have a 2x4 set up on my car. Really an amazing intake. Chances are if you have ever seen one it has been a 2x4 like mine. Very cool intake! NOS Shelby Ram Box 289 302 intake manifold Cobra GT350 Mustang. Here is a rare intake manifold. This was developed for Shelby in the late 60’s by George Spears from Shelby/ Spearco . It was Ford’s answer to the Chevrolet “Smokey Ram” box manifold that was developed for the 302 Chevy Z-28 . This was available in the 1968-69 Shelby parts catalogs and could be acquired with either a single 4 bbl top plate or a 2 x4 bbl top plate. When you take the lid off you can see all the developmental work that went into this to make the runners long and equal length for a ram affect without a tall Tunnel port style intake runner. This made for a broad useful powerband and could fit under the hood of most any car application. This manifold is new and has never been installed or used. No special gaskets or distributor are needed and it will bolt into a stock engine application. A very rare piece that I have personally used on some of my engines in the past. It works very well. Enclosed is a picture and description from the 1969 Shelby parts catalog describing the intake. The ultimate intake manifold for your small block Ford. Will fit all 260-289 302 and any 8.200 “ deck Ford small block engine including 331” or 347” stroker motors. Perfect in every way ready to bolt on or put in your collection .
