Your Kar is not in the registry. I wish you the best in coming up with history on your Kar and this is the best place to begin.

In regards to your spare block, posting pictures on here with good images of the VIN stamp would be a good start.

There is no issue with your Kar not being in the registry. It was just never registered before the registry has been closed for new registrants.

Is there a VIN stamp on the block in your Kar? If there is, they are all in the same area regardless of assembly plant. Do you have a VIN stamp on your transmission?

The VIN stamp on the block will be above the oil pan rail on the right hand side of the block in front of the engine mount. The VIN stamp on your San Jose transmission will be on the rear tab of the main transmission case at the bottom.

This F114269 code, is that the VIN I need ?

This is the block I have outside the car.

On the block inside, I don't see any VIN.

You are looking at the front of the block. That number is likely a rebuilders number. What you are seeking will be the complete VIN and you are close but need to be on the side. The number is stamped externally, not inside. The following auction shows a VIN stamp in picture number 6.

Note in the picture where the block water drain plug is located as that will help you figure out where you need to be.

It would be unusual for an original Hipo block to NOT have a VIN. What are the casting numbers on the blocks?

The C5AE-9425M is the intake manifold casting.
