Just seen this thread for VIN's. Had this block for along time, no history. Be nice to find the original owner. May be salvageable.

Tater_51,
A search of my database did not yield any result for this vin. Can I record your phone number and city/state in case I run across a matching vin on a kar or transmission?
How did you come to acquire the block? What is the block's current configuration?

Sure, 231-873-4243, Hart, Michigan. I purchased it probably 12-15 years ago near Detroit. It caught my attention because it was a VIN stamped block. I don't recall how I found the listing. Once I had it torn down I had the block and crankshaft magnafluxed. The block came back with a small crack in a water jacket and one near the lifter valley. They are not visible by the eye but showed up on the test. I then decided to part it out. I kept the block, minus the caps, just because of the VIN stamp. I believe it's still standard.
