Here we have a factory rebuilt unnumbered Motorcraft Dual Point Distributor for a 289 "HIPO" High Performance engine. The dual point application was used in Fords high output Mustangs, Fairlanes, and Cyclones to aid in horsepower. Standard distributors are equipped with a vacuum advance pod on the front unlike these high performance units which because of low vacuum deleted this advance feature
This remanufactured distributor has no extra holes modifications and is in new condition with no shelf wear. The lobes are crisp to snap both sets of points open as originally designed. There is no excessive play in the shaft & this unit has no visible signs of gouges, welds, or repairs. A great piece that would be a beautiful candidate for your restoration as it is a ready to plug and play and enjoy this clean unit .
Being freshly reconditoned it has a new rubber ring on the shaft that will seal it tightly. The points as well as the condenser are excellent since their Ford originals. This assembly offers the factory advance block off tag which is part numbered C5OF-12127-E. This part number shows it for the 65 66 67 years and since it is without a date it could help with your application if you are a show car owner or better.
A great distributor for the daily driver or better, if you own a High Performance equipped Mustang, Fairlane, or anything with a 289 or 302 this is your distributor! If by chance you are building that classic early model Ford with a small block this is your pieces so don't let this auction pass you by!

Although the seller states that this distributor is unnumbered, that is untrue as it is clearly stamped D2UF 12127 BA which is for a 72 Econoline 302 application and NOT an original Hipo dual point application. This distributor began life as a single point and was modified by Ford upon rebuilding into a dual point distributor. Being as it was a single point casting, there is a plate covering the mount for the vacuum advance unit that did not come on this distributor as a dual point. This is a new record high price paid for a distributor that is so far off from an original dual point application.
