Here is an Ebay auction for a used Autolite Hipo distributor by Ebay member "billbinega-0" with a starting bid of $350.00 and a Buy-It-Now of $600.00:
I have up for bid is an AUTOLITE dual point distributor for a Ford 289 High Performance engine. These 289 Hi Po distributors were recommended by Ford to use in Boss 302 engines in Hi Performance and racing applications, per Ford Autolite catalog from back in the day. These can be used in small block 260, 289 and 302 engines, if you want to get rid of the vacuum advance off your racing engines. This distributor looks very good, it would need cleaned up and detailed. Still has Autolite points, and even the condenser appears to be an Autolite. The distributor gear looks very good, minumin wear. if I had to guess I would say low miles. If I was to use it I would clean it up good, and replace the points, and condenser, but a complete rebuild would also be a good idea. This is an Autolite Distributor, with a date code of 0H9 which would be August 9, 1970 which makes this a replacement distributor. I bought this distributor years ago, from a guy who claimed it came out of a Boss 302 Mustang, where he installed an original Boss 302 distributor. Don't be confused by the later model 289 HI PO distributors, that have the advance hole plugged. this one is like the original, there was NO hole for the vacuum advance. This looks like and will perform like the original distributor. With that being said, there are 2 other Autolite Distributors, like this one on Ebay, both have a buy it now of at least $740. Another one sold on November 26 for $725. One of those late model replacements with the distributor hole plugged, just sold for $325. There for i will have a starting bid of $350. I will have a buy it now of $600. I will ship in a USUP Flat rate box with insurance to protect both of Our interest. I will set shipping, and insurance at $25
