4.11 rear ends on 64.5 K Converts

  • I just went and looked at Tony's Hipo book, fourth edition, page 72, and is shows that the 4.11:1 ratio was available as a "no cost" option in an "open" carrier. The code for the 4.11:1 ratio in Open form is "9" on the data plate on the drivers door, and the tag on the rear end itself would need to show WCZ-J for the 4.11:1 open unit.

Limited Slip was not an option until 1966.

  • My car has warranty plate 76A S 89 21G 13 9 5

    Axle Ratio Code 4.11:1 with a Tag attached - WCZ-J 4.11 4FC 905

My question is how many 64.5 K Convertibles came from the factory with a 4.11:1 rear end under them?

How many are listed in the registry?

    Thanks Bob

  • Bob, There is no real way of knowing how many came from the factory with the 4.11:1 gear set as Ford destroyed all the records for '65 and '66

Also in Tony's book there IS a chart that shows there are 30 cars for a total percentage of 2.96-I am just not clear if this is for all 3 years ('65-'66-'67) or just '65....its on page 153 of the 4th edition....
