Here is an Ebay auction for a pair of used C7ZE heads by Ebay member "acond" with a Buy-It-Now of $2,289.00:

This is a near flawless very low mileage pair of 67 HIPO 289 cylinder heads which are correct for HIPO 289 engines for the year of 1967. They will work fine on 1965 and 1966 HIPO 289 engines but the date code and lower casting numbers will not be correct. These heads have been inspected and are crack free and in unbelievable super nice original condition. Very low mileage, no corrosion no machine work and no damage of any kind. The valve guides are good and the gasket surfaces are good. All original! If I were using them, I would just lap the valves to the seats and then use them. These are extremely rare HIPO heads with the C7ZE casting numbers on the bottom. Correct numbers for 1967. These are correct original factory assembly line installed heads for 1967, not to be confused with the later incorrectly marked Ford service replacement heads. Would be perfect for a 1967 GT350. Matched pair with same date codes. I have had these stored in the garage for many years, but have no need for them, so would like to see them go to someone who can use them. Shipping will be by UPS, so no PO boxes please.

Here is an Ebay auction for a pair of used C7ZE heads by Ebay member "gt35067" with a Buy-It-Now of $2,450.00:

This is a pair of very hard to find factory production 1967 289 HIPO heads.

These heads were recently removed from a running motor. The motor started popping out of the carburetor every now and then so a compression test was done and there was slight leakage out of one of the cylinders. The heads were removed and they found a burnt intake valve (see pictures). Since the heads were on a non-original 80's Mustang the owner decided to go with a new set of aluminum heads.

These heads were disassembled and cleaned with soft walnut shells. They were then visually inspected and reassembled.

They are being sold as you see them used but needing to be rebuilt.

The heads have been milled for use with Teflon valve seals and they have had bronze guides installed. They also have springs but other then that they look completely stock.

There has never been any porting on the intake or exhaust. The valve size is stock and they still have their factory original FoMoCo valves.

Both of the heads have matching date codes of 7B3 (1967-February 3rd).

Both heads have the double dot above the 289 casting in each head and they have casting numbers of 19 and 21 on the corners.

Overall these are a nice pair of HIPO heads to rebuild and restore.

**1967 production heads are by far the hardest heads to find. 1967 production of the 289 HIPO was limited to the Mustang GT and the Shelby GT350. Less than 1700 K-code 289 HIPO cars were produced in 1967 which is why these heads are so hard to find these days.

    Casting Info:
Date code on both heads: 7E11 (May 11, 1967)
    Casting #: C7ZE

Whats the story behind these heads?:
My friend owns a performance machine shop in Fresno California that had this set of heads and block dropped off to them for a full standard rebuild. Right at the end of the rebuild process the customer elected to go with aftermarket heads and sold the completed heads to me.

My rebuilder noted the heads had very low miles since they didn't even need valve guides. These heads are all factory stock, no modifications. Rocker arms are not included or available.

Upon purchase we can put you in contact with the machine shop if your interested in talking to them about the rebuild they performed.
We are offering a 30-day return option so you can have your local machine shop inspect them. If they are not everything we said they were you can return them for a full refund less shipping cost. They must be returned in the the exact same condition as they were received. Sorry, no warranty.

  • Here is an Ebay auction for a pair of used C7ZE heads by Ebay member "claystroup" with a starting bid of $99.00 on a reserve auction with a Buy-It-Now of $1,799.00:

For auction are a pair of C7ZE Ford 289 HiPo K code heads. The head with the #21 casting code has a date code of 7E11 and has no defects that I can find. The head with the #20 casting code has a date code of 7B3 and has 2 minor issues that are both shown in the pictures: defect 1 is a valve cover bolt that is broken off in the head and needs to be drilled and removed; defect #2 is the top of one valve guide is broken off. The machine shop where I recently had the heads boiled and shot blasted at said that the broken valve guide was easily fixed by any competent machine shop. The heads have never been ported or cut and valves are still stock size. These are a hard to find head in an unmodified condition so bid accordingly.

Ford /shelby GT350 1967 Hipo heads . excellent original 67 date coded 289 High Performance - K code cylinder heads. Every once in awhile you run across some used parts that are just amazing after 50+ years. I got these from my old Ford dealer friend and he said he had a 67 GT350 back in the day and when the fuel availability on high octane went bad , he put on some lower compression 351 W heads and stuck these on the shelf. They are in superb shape - just check out the pics. They are C7ZE castings with 7B and 7E date codes. Both have the raised #19 in the corners. Never had any port work or milling. Castings were taken apart, stripped to bare including the core plugs for a thorough cleaning. They have been hot tanked. Furnace cleaned, sonofluxed for cracks, run through a very low stress steelbrater to clean then to bare metal and oiled. The seats looks perfect for the next valve job. All the guides look good, virtually pit free. Ready to build for a bone stock GT350 or K code. , I have a dozen pictures, if you want more let me know . I saved the original used parts taken off and will go with them when shipped. side wall
